If unSquared opens on the Connect to Square page with a yellow banner, it lost access to your Square account and disconnected itself on purpose - instead of looking connected while nothing loads. The banner tells you which of two things happened.
Which banner do you see?
| Banner | What happened | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| unSquared was disconnected from Square | unSquared was removed from your Square account (Square Dashboard > Apps / App Integrations), by you or someone else with access to it. | Click Connect to Square at the top right and approve again. |
| Your Square account is now connected to another Shopify store | The same Square account was connected to unSquared on a different Shopify store. Square keeps only the newest connection. | Click Connect to Square to use unSquared here - this disconnects the other store. Or connect a different Square account. |
What unSquared did when it lost access
- Scheduled migrations
Every pending schedule was cancelled. Schedule them again after reconnecting.
- A migration that was running
It was stopped and marked failed in Migration History, with the reason shown. Start it again after reconnecting.
- Everything already migrated
Untouched. Products, customers, gift cards, discounts and collections in Shopify stay exactly as they are.
- Your settings
Kept. Reconnecting the same Square account restores your Location Mapping automatically, along with your What You're Migrating choices and history.
How unSquared finds out
Square tells unSquared as soon as access is removed, and unSquared also checks each time you open the app. If you open unSquared right after access was removed, the dashboard may show for a second before the page reloads onto Connect to Square - that's expected.
